What to expect from the gaming industry in 2021

There’s no doubt that 2020 has been an interesting year for all of us but for the gaming industry it has been a highly successful one. With the launch of the new PS5 and Xbox Series X there’s no doubt that we can be expecting some amazing games to show off this newly released technology.

Of course with the launch of these new consoles came some amazing games that would perfectly showcase the new DualSense controller from the PS5 and the amazing 4k quality from the Xbox. With the PS5 limited to games only compatible PS4 and PS5 games, the Xbox has the one up as you have the ability to play all generations on this one device.

So if you are a PlayStation fan you might be in search of something new to keep you busy, unlike the Xbox fans who still have quite a large variety of choices. We’ve rounded up some of the best games to expect from the industry for both consoles with something for everyone.

When life gets back to normal, you might find yourself searching for an escape. With so many RPG’s set to be released in the new year you’re spoilt for choice. An RPG is a role-playing game in which players take the role of the main character and face the various obstacles set to come their way. Follow the exhilarating storyline as you make life-changing decisions. Pay close attention and fight your way to the top by conquering various beasts and unlocking quests. Here are some top RPG’s to look out for in 2021.

    Table of Contents
    1. Dragon Age 4
    2. Fable
    3. Hitman 3
    4. Gotham Knights
    5. Vampire: The Masquerade- Bloodlines 2

    Dragon Age 4

This mysterious game leaves almost everything to the imagination at the moment. With very little known about the game or the release date, the developers are keeping many on the edge of their seats as they wait in anticipation for the next game in the Dragon Age series. There’s no doubt about it that this game has had its hiccups along the way as the developers failed with the past creation known as Anthem. Nonetheless this game has us intrigued as all we know is that it will be set in Tevinter and players will assumer the role of an unexpected character in the story and we cant wait to find out who it is.

Rumoured to be available for both PS5 and Xbox Series X consoles, we’re looking forward to testing them out and having a fair comparison.

    Fable

No one expected a game from Microsoft in the new year but the announcement of the latest addition to the Fable series is a pleasant one. After taking the reins of the IP, Microsoft have decided to release a new game with very little information available to the public. This open-world RPG will be designed by Playgrounds Games which will hopefully bring them all the success they need after a long period of dormancy. Bring on 2021!

This game will only be available to Xbox owners due to the fact that Xbox Game Studios are the ones in charge.

    Hitman 3

Step into the shoes of the well-known Agent 47 as he visits exotic locations and embarks on one of the most important adventures of his life. This game is said to be the dramatic end to the trilogy that we’ve all been waiting for. Both Hitman 1 and 2 can be imported and played with no additional cost so you’ll be able to relive the entire journey and enjoy the climax even more. Other than that, all we know is that death is waiting just around the corner for those who dare take the plunge into this dark and intense world.

    Gotham Knights

With the delay of the Robert Patterson Batman Movie, many fans were left disappointed. That was until the announcement of the latest venture of the Batman enterprise. Take on the unique role of Batman’s trusty team of sidekicks as they assume the role of the Gotham City guardians as their leader has decided to leave Gotham after meeting his match. Change between characters such as Robin, Nightwing, Batgirl and Red Hood as you protect Gotham City from whatever evil lurks around the corner.

    Vampire: The Masquerade- Bloodlines 2

A cult classic of note, the announcement of this long-awaited addition to the series was welcomed with open arms by the cult-like group of fans that have enjoyed the games from the very beginning. Hardsuit Labs have developed a game that will take a closer look at Vampire politics and give players an insight into the wars going on between the different factions. Set in the city of Seattle, you’ll be made to choose alliances and weapons right from the start ultimately sealing your fate from the word go.

With the assumption that you’ve managed to get your hands on either one of the much-anticipated consoles, you’ll have such a wide variety of games to choose from that you’ll be spoilt for choice and find that you don’t actually want to leave your home. Escape reality, save a city or build up your army, the choice is always yours in the world of gaming.
