FIFA 20: Best Young English Players To Buy On Career Mode

The release of FIFA 20 means that gamers are looking all over the internet trying to find the best young players to buy when they enter career mode. The hot-bed for talent over the past couple of seasons has been England as we enter a golden generation for the Three Lions, which has already consisted of two semi-final appearances at competitions.

The calibre of players in the Premier League is typically high, but more than ever, the biggest teams in the division are building their sides around home grown talent. But, when players enter career mode, which professionals have the best possible potential rating from England? Let’s explore.

    Table of Contents
    1. Jadon Sancho
    2. Marcus Rashford
    3. Trent Alexander-Arnold
    4. Phil Foden

    Jadon Sancho

It has certainly been a meteoric rise for Jadon Sancho, and he has come a long way after being released from Manchester City in the summer of 2017 for a reported fee of just £8 million. The Englishman left the club in the same summer as Pep Guardiola arrived at the club, but wanted to play football on a regular basis. It was certainly a brave move to swap Manchester for Dortmund at the age he was, but it has been something that could prove to be the best decision he ever made.

The pace that he has is perfectly accurate on FIFA, and he is one of the quickest players in the current instalment of the game. He begins the current edition at a rating of 84, which is the highest of any player that is of the same age. However, after a few seasons on career mode, his rating will sky-rocket to 92. By the time that his rating reaches this point, he will be the third-highest rated player on the game, with only Matthijs de Ligt and Kylian Mbappe able to boast a higher one.

Sancho has been deserving of this reputation as last season he recorded over ten goals and ten assists for the first time in his career, and he was one of only two players to achieve that feat in the Bundesliga last season. According to MobileBet, bigger things could be on the horizon for Sancho, with Manchester United already the market leaders to snap the Englishman up next summer. The fee that will be required will be more than the £8 million paid for him by Dortmund and could be as much as £100 million, which would certainly make him the most expensive English player of all-time. He isn’t likely to cost that much of FIFA if you buy him at the right time.

    Marcus Rashford

The Englishman who inspired ‘The Journey’ mode in previous seasons remains hot property on career mode due to the jump that he makes in ratings throughout his career. The 2018-19 season may not have been his best to date as Manchester United struggled to sustain their mid-season form under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, but his rating hasn’t taken too much of a hit on the latest instalment. He begins the game at a rating of 83, before jumping up to 88 over the coming seasons.

He will be one of the more expensive players to sign, but users could instead wait for his contract to run down and instead offer him a competitive salary to warn off rival sides. Rashford will be a crucial figure to the crucial United set-up as Solskjaer has placed his trust in the 21-year-old to lead the line for his young new side. He has yet to adjust to his preferred position in the Premier League, but his pace on FIFA will be enough to give opposing sides nightmares. A strong run of form for the Old Trafford club could see him given an in-form card that could be anywhere between 86-88, which would be hot property on Ultimate Team. He will certainly be a player to keep an eye on, and career mode players will be keen to snap him up for a good price when they can.

    Trent Alexander-Arnold

The 2018-19 campaign was a coming of age one for Alexander-Arnold. His performances in the Premier League helped Liverpool achieve a best-ever points tally, while he was instrumental in helping the Reds win their sixth European title. His passing and crossing ability is certainly his strongest asset, as he contributed 12 assists last season. The most notable of his four assists in the Champions League came when he took a quick corner to set-up Divock Origi to put Liverpool ahead in their semi-final second leg clash with Barcelona.

The young full-back quickly goes on to become the best right-back in FIFA 20 after starting with an impressive 83 rating. However, over the coming seasons in career mode, his rating jumps to a huge 89, which makes him the best full-back in the game. He would be an easy choice for players from set-pieces as his curling trait is outstanding. Again, he may not be the cheapest of options, but if you have the money on career mode, then he would be an excellent addition to your side, and he could also play in the midfield position.

    Phil Foden

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has already claimed that Phil Foden is the best player that he has ever coached, and his ability on the ball is ranked among the best. That is high praise coming from a coach that has worked with Lionel Messi, but Foden’s FIFA potential also backs this up. He begins the game with a rating of 76, which isn’t to be sniffed after since he is only 19-years-old.

During the first few seasons on career mode, players can opt to loan in the playmaker and just pay half of his wages. However, if players wanted to buy him at the beginning of the career mode, then they would half to pay a sizeable fee. That fee could be worth Foden in the long-term as he jumps to a rating of 90 after a few seasons in the game. His passing ability is outstanding, but his mastery on the ball that mesmerises players. His dribbling stats are unbelievable for his age, and he is able to glide away from his opponents despite not having the best pace stats. He is certainly one to watch, and one to loan if you want a taster of how talented the Englishman is.
