Desperados 3 is the latest installment in the Desperados franchise made by Mimimi Games. It is a round-based game set in the Wild West where you control characters and complete challenges and quests. This game can be played on PC as well as on both PS4 and Xbox One.

    3.   Age of Empires 2: Definitive Edition

As far as strategy games go, the Age of Empire franchise belongs in the hall of fame for this game genre. Age of Empire 2: Definitive Edition is considered one of the best of all of the Age of Empire games, where you build and control a settlement from the ground up. You have to build up an army as well as your defenses to protect you from potential attacks. This game can only be played on PC, so you might need to rethink your choice if you only own a console.

    4.   Sid Meier’s Civilization 6

Sid Meier’s Civilization 6 is another turn-based strategy game where you control an entire civilization and control its growth through the ages, all the way from the stone age to the present day. The strategic element of this game comes in the many different ways you can choose to grow your empire and defeat others trying to conquer the world. This game is compatible with PC and the following consoles: PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.

    5.   Total War: Warhammer 2

Total War: Warhammer 2 brings the model game to life in a turn-based computer game set in a fantasy world. If you want to play this game, then you will need a PC as it is not available on any consoles.

    6.   Crusader Kings 3

If you are looking for a role-playing game with a strategic element, then Crusader Kings 3 might just be the game for you. This game has great storytelling and a lot of mechanics to master before you lead your army to victory in battle. You will also be pleased to know you can play this game on both PC and the following consoles: PS5, Xbox Series X/S.

    7.   XCOM 2

XCOM 2 is another turn-based strategy game set in a world experiencing an alien invasion. You have to command your team to fight against the invasion and make smart decisions to prevent the world from becoming overrun. You will have to find resources and upgrade your weapons as you go to fight the oncoming waves of invaders. This game is available on Nintendo Switch, PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

    8.   StarCraft 2

As far as competitive strategy games go, StarCraft is probably the game that stands out in people’s minds the most. Blizzard Entertainment continued this franchise’s stellar reputation with the release of StarCraft 2, which has an incredibly high skill cap. Players can go head to head and control their fleet in a way that outsmarts the opponent, destroying the enemy’s base. If you want to play this game, then you will need to have a PC.

    9.   Into the Breach

Into the Breach is a sci-fi turn-based game developed by Subset Games. The premise of the game is that the world is being infested by aliens, and you have to save the day by fighting them off. Use all the different kinds of weapons you can find to take on the monsters and position your attacks thoughtfully, so you don’t run out of ammo in the next attack.

    10. Command and Conquer Remastered Collection

Command and Conquer is an absolute classic when it comes to old-school arcade-style strategy games. This game was first released over 25 years ago, and yet it is still being enjoyed in the present day. This remastered version runs much more smoothly and is playable on your PC.
