Welcome to our final news roundup for the month of November! We hope you’re enjoying making your Christmas preparations (or not doing so, if you’re not the Christmassy type).
We’re well into the pre-Game Awards period now, which means that developers and publishers are likely holding onto their big announcements until early December, but as always, that doesn’t mean there’s no news to ponder.
Grab a warm mug of hot chocolate and sit down with us as we take a look through the biggest gaming news of the last seven days!
Palworld is getting an Ultrakill crossover

Another big indie property is coming to Palworld, and this time, it’s the turn of super-violent, super-stylish first-person shooter Ultrakill, as was revealed via Steam earlier this week.
The Ultrakill collaboration will arrive alongside a big update for Palworld later this month, and it’ll include new base customisation features as well, so it’s not just the indie crossover you’ve got to look forward to.
All of this arrives in Palworld on December 17th, so make sure to set your calendar accordingly if you don’t want to miss the update.
That Far Cry TV series appears to be official

Earlier this year, it was mooted that a Far Cry TV series could be in the works from FX and Alien: Earth writer Noah Hawley, and now, that show appears to have been made official.
That’s according to a Variety report, which also confirms that the show will be helmed by Hawley and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia’s Rob Mac (formerly known as Rob McElhenney).
The Far Cry show will take an anthology approach, so each season will focus on a different protagonist and be set in a different location, which feels pretty appropriate to the series.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows is getting an Attack on Titan crossover
Have you ever wished that the worlds of Ubisoft’s historical stealth-action franchise Assassin’s Creed and apocalyptic anime Attack on Titan could cross over? If so, then you’re in luck.
The two properties announced a collaboration this week, and it’ll see Naoe and Yasuke doing battle with the terrifying giant creatures from the anime and manga you know and (potentially) love.
It was also revealed this week that Assassin’s Creed Shadows won’t be getting a second major paid expansion along the lines of its predecessors, which came as something of a surprise.
The dev behind indie game Horses is in danger of shutting down

This week, developer Santa Ragione revealed the release date for its indie horror game Horses, but unfortunately, the game won’t be coming to Steam, and that could be a fatal problem for the studio.
Valve hasn’t told Santa Ragione exactly why it’s banned Horses from Steam, but the fact that the game won’t be available on the platform means that it’s missing out on a lot of potential business.
You will still be able to pick up Horses on platforms like Itch.io and GOG, but Steam players won’t be able to add it to their library on December 2nd.
Splitgate 2’s relaunch is coming in December

The Splitgate 2 beta is ending once again on December 4th, developer 1047 Games announced this week, with the game’s major relaunch arriving “later in December”.
The portal-based first-person shooter was taken back into beta in July, following feedback that suggested to the developer that the game had “launched too early”.
Hopefully, 1047 has managed to smooth out Splitgate 2’s rough edges, and what you’ll be getting later this month is a more polished and more playable version of a rather promising shooter.
Bloodlines 2 is a flop, and The Chinese Room’s founder might know why

Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 was released this year to a very ambivalent reception, and this week, it was revealed that the game represents a major loss for publisher Paradox.
Dan Pinchbeck, the co-founder and former creative director of The Chinese Room, told the Goth Boss podcast earlier this week that he wanted Paradox “to not call it Bloodlines 2” during development.
Indeed, much of the criticism of the sequel has revolved around the notion that it isn’t a particularly successful followup to the original Bloodlines, which remains a cult classic among its fans.
Embracer Group is selling off Fellowship’s Arc Games

Fellowship publisher Arc Games may once have counted itself among the stable of holding company Embracer Group, but not any more; the company announced this week that it’s selling off the publisher, along with developer Cryptic Studios.
Embracer CEO Phil Rogers says the deal will “strengthen [Embracer’s] focus on strategic assets and core IPs…while improving profitability and free cash flow”.
He hopes to raise around $30 million once the transaction is complete, which Embracer expects to happen “as soon as customary conditions are fulfilled”.
Cyberpunk 2077 sales have reached 35 million

CD Projekt Red revealed this week that Cyberpunk 2077 sales have reached a staggering new milestone since the last time we checked in with the studio.
According to the company’s latest financial results, sales of the open-world action RPG have hit 35 million across all platforms, which naturally includes the base game and Ultimate Edition bundles.
Still, for a game that had such a rocky start to life, 35 million is an incredibly impressive number, and it’ll likely serve as a motivating factor for CD Projekt Red as it continues work on the upcoming sequel.
Hytale will be launching in Early Access in January

It’s been a long, odd road for Hytale, but the sandbox RPG will finally be launching in January, developer Hypixel Studios announced via the game’s official website this week.
At launch, Hypixel admits that Hytale will be a rather buggy and unfinished affair, but that’s the whole point of the Early Access release; Hypixel says you shouldn’t pre-order the game (which you can do from December 13th) if you don’t feel comfortable doing so.
However, if you do decide to grab Hytale at launch, you’ll get an early version of “the original vision from the 2018 trailer”, along with modding and creative tool support.
