The Nintendo Switch has proven to be something of a revelation in the gaming space. While the basic idea of the console was arguably prototyped with the earlier Wii U (which, sadly, turned out to be a failure), the Switch perfects the formula, creating a console you can play on your TV and take with you when you travel. We’re looking forward to what Nintendo does next, but for now, the Switch still reigns supreme.
Of course, given that the Switch is such a popular console, it also has a massively popular library of indies and triple-A games to play. Of course, this includes casino games and sims, which are still staggeringly popular. This is a social experience, so you’ll also bump into other players as you play, making this feel like a real Vegas-style casino. Lots of Slots
As the name suggests, Lots of Slots is, well, a slot simulator. There are, as you can imagine, lots of different slot games you can check out here, including Treasure Hunt, Gladiator, and others themed around various things including animals and aliens. You’ll be given a gift of 25,000 coins when you start, and each time you spin, you’ll win more, gaining rewards from levelling up. Of course, there’s no real money at stake here, but this is a great way to enjoy the casino experience without actually having to spend anything and put your money at risk.
Craps at Aces Casino
We may well be encountering the Aces Casino range on this list again before it’s through, but let’s start with this rather nifty little dice game. Craps at Aces Casino aims to simulate the craps experience at a Vegas venue, and it does an admirable job of doing so. Of course, you’ll get to play Vegas-style craps, but you’ll also get access to a wide range of tables, and there are bonus games available if you find yourself on a winning streak. Again, there’s no real money at stake, but this is a compelling and enjoyable craps sim nonetheless.
Poker Club
Poker can be great fun, but you’ve got to play it with the right people. With that in mind, why not try your hand against some of the most fiendish AI opponents around? That’s the experience that Poker Club on Switch offers. It’s a poker sim with all the trimmings; there’s a full campaign on offer here that lets you experience life as a poker professional, rising from obscurity all the way to the top. You can also enjoy a wide range of different poker variations, as well as online play, so if you’re a poker fan, there’s lots to keep you busy here.
Vegas Party
This is a much more Mario Party-esque take on casino gameplay. If you’d rather step away from the somewhat po-faced nature of standard casino sims, then Vegas Party could well be the game for you. It’s a fast-paced, over-the-top version of casino gaming that sees you competing with other players in order to be the first to reach the end of the Las Vegas Strip. Along the way, you’ll compete in casino-themed minigames, explore different environments, and enjoy the parodies of Vegas on display. It’s a fun, frothy experience that can’t compete with the major casino sims, but it isn’t trying to.
Casino Roulette Royal
Some games out there do one thing and do it so well that there’s no reason to play anything else. Casino Roulette Royal could well be that game if you’re a huge roulette fiend. The devs boast that this is a good way to test out your roulette strategies, but if you ask us, it’s just a good opportunity to play some roulette without worrying about whether our bank balances are going to suffer for it.
Slots of Poker at Aces Casino
We told you we’d be revisiting the Aces Casino range before this list was out! Slots of Poker is, just like Craps, a great representation of casino slots. It offers, as you might expect, slots themed largely around poker. The symbols and slot machines are big, bright, and colourful, and the animations are extremely satisfying, so when you get a win, it’ll feel like a real victory.
