At this point, all we know so far about GTA VI is pretty much based on rumors and speculation. With that in mind, we can still get some kind of idea about what to expect when GTA VI releases.
Take a look at all of the GTA VI details we know so far by reading through the information provided below.
When Is GTA VI Expected To Release?
Rockstar is the kind of developer that likes to take their time when it comes to new game releases. As a result, it may be some time before we see a new GTA title. It will definitely come at some point – Rockstar has mentioned in the past that they have over 45 years worth of ideas for the GTA franchises.
If we were to make a guess, we’d say that GTA VI would come on or before 2022. If this were to be the case, we may get to see a trailer for the game in 2021. Yes, that’s still three years away, but in the meantime, we’ll get to play Red Dead Redemption 2 and any new content that is prepared for GTA Online.
Development does take a long time, and it also makes sense that Rockstar might want to hold off on the release for a little while so that they can get the most out of Red Dead Redemption 2.
Where Will GTA VI Be Set?
This is the one question that everybody has been asking. GTA VI will be the most ambitious open world title from Rockstar, so it’s expected that they’ll go all out with the location.
The biggest rumor that keeps popping up about GTA is that the next game will actually be set in Vice City. It would certainly be nice to see a return to this area of the GTA universe.
It’s even possible that GTA VI may have multiple locations. We may get to see a return of some of the biggest locations in GTA history, including Vice City, Liberty City, San Andreas, and Los Santos.
It does, of course, depend on how far Rockstar wants to take their new game. It is also possible that Rockstar creates an entirely new destination. Some rumors have suggested that we may even see an international GTA game in a location like London or Berlin.
What About GTA Online In GTA VI?
With the huge success that GTA Online has had since the release of GTA 5, we very much doubt that Rockstar would get rid of it. There’s some question over whether GTA Online players in GTA 5 will have to start over, or whether players will be able to transfer over their character from GTA 5.
We think it makes more sense that GTA Online will expand to be a multi-platform experience – GTA Online on GTA VI may include new locations, new missions, and new items to purchase, but players should hopefully be able to use their existing GTA Online character to switch between GTA V and GTA VI locations.
This is all obviously based on speculation at this point. We’ll have to wait till we hear more from Rockstar before we can nail down some actual facts.
With that being said, GTA VI is definitely happening and it could even be the case that Rockstar is working on it as we speak.
With how long it takes Rockstar to develop and release games, we wouldn’t even be surprised if all of the game details have already been laid out. Now, if only we could get access to that information.
What are your thoughts on GTA VI? Are you looking forward to it, or are you happy to continue playing GTA 5?
